City College Plymouth has been confirmed as a returning sponsor of Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival, as excitement builds for Devon’s biggest day of running on Sunday 17 May 2026.
Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival, which features the iconic Plymouth Half Marathon, Plymouth 10k and the Plymouth Primary Schools’ Challenge, is expected to attract thousands of participants to the city’s waterfront. The event continues to grow year-on-year, bringing together participants of all abilities for a celebration of fitness, wellbeing and community spirit.
The College will once again play a key role in supporting the event, continuing a longstanding partnership that highlights its commitment to health, wellbeing, and community engagement across Plymouth.
City College Plymouth’s continued involvement reflects its position at the heart of the local community, with a strong focus on developing skills, supporting wellbeing and creating opportunities for students to gain real-world experience.
As part of their support, students will once again be involved in event-day operations, helping deliver a seamless experience for participants and spectators. This hands-on involvement provides valuable insight into live event management and enhances employability skills.
