Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival will return to Plymouth on Sunday 17 May 2026, with organisers expecting more than 11,000 participants and 40,000 spectators to line the streets for what is set to be the biggest day of running in Devon. The festival, which features the Plymouth Half Marathon and Plymouth 10K, will once again bring together participants of all abilities to experience one of the South West’s most iconic running events.
Event organisers have confirmed that Plymouth Active Leisure will play a key role as the festival’s Health and Wellbeing Sponsor, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to supporting health, fitness and community participation across the city.
As part of their involvement, the team at Plymouth Active Leisure are supporting participants in the lead up to the event by providing official training plans for both the Half Marathon and 10K, helping participants prepare safely and confidently for event day. The plans are currently available online at www.runplymouth.co.uk. On the day itself, the Plymouth Active team will also be taking part in the team challenge, while leading the official warm-up sessions for both distances, ensuring participants are ready to start their races.
In addition, the iconic Tinside Lido will play a central role in the event experience. The historic sea-water pool will act as the hub for participants who have purchased the VIP upgrade option, providing access to exclusive toilets, changing rooms, showers and a relaxed space to unwind before and after the event. Tinside Lido will also host the corporate VIP area, where invited guests can enjoy the atmosphere of the festival while watching the action in comfort.
