As the weeks count down to Devon’s biggest day of running, City College Plymouth will be supporting entrants every step of their journey to the start line on May 11th as Official Training Partner.
Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival, which features the iconic Plymouth Half Marathon, Plymouth 10k and Plymouth 5k, alongside a School’s Challenge, is expected to attract a record number of approximately over 10,000 entrants in 2025, and City College Plymouth will once again feature as part of the build up and on event day itself.
The partnership highlights the College’s longstanding commitment to the development and well-being of its students, staff, and the local community.
City College Plymouth, the anchor institution for skills in the city, is dedicated to empowering individuals through education, training, and skill development. With over 300 courses spanning 25-plus subject areas, the College provides a wide range of courses for school leavers and adults. The College will also return to support Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival on the day with students managing the baggage drop at the Crowne Plaza Plymouth.
Suzi Cumberland, Managing Director of Event Organisers Taurus, said, “City College Plymouth are at the heart of life in Plymouth and to have their continued support is both welcomed and important. In return, we are honoured to be able to provide a platform for Sports and Public Services students to gain event experience at Devon’s biggest day or running.”
Liam Stevens, Curriculum Lead & Development Officer for Public Services, Sport, Health & Fitness at City College Plymouth, says, “We are thrilled to be a part of Britain’s Ocean City Running Festival. As an organisation deeply rooted in the local community, we believe in the power of events to promote health, well-being, and inclusivity. We look forward to a special day in the city’s calendar.”
